India’s biggest Travel & Tourism Fair
4th – 6th August 2006 Hyderabad

Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Embassy of Poland has organized an information stand at the “Travel and Tourism Fair” in Hyderabad, which lasted from 4th till 6th August, 2006.

It was our first presentation of Polish tourist capacities in Andhra Pradesh Capital. South India is today a hub of new technologies, and Hyderabad is leading in many areas of IT development.

It creates wealth and opening minds of young generation creating their growing awareness of outside world. In Europe for time being mainly England is the main destination but we want to promote our country, quiet place in the heart of Europe. Poland is attractive for foreign tourist – in 2005 we hosted about 17 millions of them (India 3,5 million) not counting few millions of visitors from Ukraine, Russia or Belarus looking for job opportunities. To learn more about Polish tourist offer please visit web site of Polish Tourist Organization: www.pot.gov.pl.

Apart of promoting Poland as a tourist destination we have also meetings with the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI).

The aim of these meetings was to interact with a business community of the Andhra Pradesh and the scholars who shape administrative staff of India. In this moment it is important to remember the “Rig Veda” verse:

“Let us be together
Let us interact together
And may our Minds
Comprehend together”

This verse I learn at the ASCI and it is important to acquaint it by heart. In our global world our economical interest interacts, distance is reduced to few hours of fly; cultures are mingling in one big pot. Hyderabad is today a centre of IT technology, but to achieve higher stage in it development, consulting, it is a must to be present in the biggest markets, like Europe, where Poland is offering excellent investment opportunities. On the other hand growing needs of Indian industry for energy are creating growing possibilities for Polish industry which should also ties up with Indian partners.

We enjoy our stay in the AP capital with it’s mingle of Hindu and Muslim culture of a big history of tolerance hoping it will be a pattern for our world.
